Youth Off the Streets
Youth
Off The Streets, established in 1991, works with chronically homeless and drug
addicted young people aged between 12-16 years. It operates an eighteen bed
voluntary crisis care facility at Marrickville. This is Sydney's only non-medicated
detox centre specifically designed for adolescents. In conjunction with the
detox centre, Youth Off The Streets run Key College, a high school in Surry
Hills for drug affected young people.
A program has been established by CHAMP and Youth Off The Streets to help
sponsor kids through the Matthew Hogan School. This is known as the "CHAMPion Programme".
The money donated by CHAMP will help sponsor four students through the school
and also provides the "CHAMPion Award" for one student each year.
CHAMP has also supported Youth Off The Streets by organising fund raising
events to further promote the sponsorship opportunities through the Matthew
Hogan School.
