CHAMP becomes a proud supporter of Opportunity International Australia

Founded 25 years ago by Australian David Bussau, Opportunity International seeks transformation in the lives of poor men and women in developing countries. It provides poor entrepreneurs with access to capital and business training to start and expand small businesses. Opportunity enables people to care for their families and gain the dignity that comes from being self-supporting. Communities are strengthened as local economies improve and entrepreneurs join forces to solve societal problems. It is a hand up, not a hand-out. In 2002 Opportunity International implementing partner agencies created more than 792,000 jobs in 27 countries. OI is well on target to creating 1,000,000 jobs in 2003. As 98% of loans are repaid, donations are recycled and reloaned again and again transforming more and more lives. Donations to Opportunity International will continue to grow and transform lives for years to come. Opportunity’s Public Fundraising Director, Belinda Sullivan, is excited about CHAMP’s support. “There is a natural synergy in the work of CHAMP and of Opportunity. We are both about creating better futures for our clients. The ongoing support of companies like CHAMP plays a vital role in enabling us to empower the poor to take control of their lives and futures”.
